    During January-February 2010 the volumes of poultry production in Ukraine grew by 13% comparing to the similar period of 2009 and by 23% comparing to 2008, according to the data of the Ukrainian Agricultural Confederation (UAC).

    Therefore, over the first two months this year Ukraine has produced 121,3 thousand tons of these goods. "With this rate of poultry farming development, Ukraine in 2010 may approach the production level of 1 million tons of poultry", - the UAC believe.

    It should be reminded that according to the official statistical data, the volume of production of fresh or cooled poultry and food poultry by-products in Ukraine increased by 14% up to 633 thousand tons; frozen poultry – by 6,2% up to 80 thousand tons.

    We should also mention that the significant growth of poultry production last year was determined, in particular, by the start of the operations by the largest Ukrainian poultry producer – agricultural holding "Mironovskiy Khleboproduct" (MKhP) of new facilities in June 2009.
