Domestic meat processors agreed with the government the issue of increasing the prices for their products. The companies signed a memorandum with the government, according to which the prices for meat and poultry will be set at the rate of 10,50—11 hrn/kg till the end of the year.
The memorandum on fixing the prices for eggs and meat was signed yesterday by and between the producers of these products and the government. Further, the government promised to prolong the ban on the import of customer-supplied meat products till the end of the year.
The head of the Supervisory board of «Tvarynprom» corporation Sergey Gnatyuk says that the import of meat under customer-supplied schemes reduced the prices for a long time for domestic meat producers, and approves of the newly set prices. «In the past pork cost around 5,5 hryvnias per kilogram, whereas now this price is 10,5 hryvnias. Using these prices the producer is willing to work», he said.

The Ministry of Economical Development and Trade of Ukraine applied to the Cabinet Council with the offer to include lard and pork into the list of products, the import of which should be subject to licensing in 2011. The corresponding resolution was placed at the web-site of the Ministry of Economical Development and Trade of Ukraine for discussion.
